An alcoholic businessman Clark (Chiwetel Ejiofor) tries to get his life together as his warehouse is not doing well. He sees a wall to another dimension beyong reality with some evil force behind it all.
His therapist Mary (Renate Reinsve) must venture into the unknown to save him after he disappears.

Found footage is revealed during the start of this flick with a deserted warehouse in which we spot old school technology lying around like cassette tapes and floppy discs.
Then in a distance we spot what looks like a seagull almost dead but then this bird rises and flies around intensely as well as on the ground looking like some rodents lying around. This seemed mildly suspenseful to watch almost making you jump.
Most of the other surroundings looked rather dull to watch but then something happens as this looked spooky to watch.
Afterwards a screen is revealed playing this which is of course scientists in an institution watching this footage.

Clark is in a counselling session with Mary in which he discusses situations as the interactions flow quite well. Also he changes from calm to aggressive and raging. This moment shows a great tension within what he's doing here. However this scene starts to be a real drag.

Then he is being filmed while practising doing his commercial for his business but then he gets frusterated as this looked stupid to watch for what I saw going on. I just found all this quite annoying within all of this.

The weird moments happen when he spots some spark on his wall at his warehouse. He walks to it and realises he's in another dimension on the deserted place that was shown in the found footage. Alot of wasteless scene's while he looks around the place as some things are set with a stop sign and other weird surroundings. Nothing too scary. Just weird and dull.

He then talks to Mary on what he saw and getting anxious about this as this looked pretty tense but at the same time quite conry to watch. However he goes into a rage which looked powerful as I wondered or not if he will act violent.

He gets his employees Bobby and Kat in order to help him out and videotape as to what goes on in his warehouse. This time it's a found footage moment as he shows them the area where he could walk though the wall as they laugh noy believing that this will happen. It made me wonder if this time it won't work.
Great intense moments when the camera goes through the wall to that dimension and so fourth.
They spot a steep corridor in which Clark ties Bobby to help him crawl down in order to see what's there. This did get exciting to watch which is one of the only best scene's. Yet not enough to make this above a bomb.
Mysterious area with dirty laundry and so fourth as he looks around filming everything. Then something spooky happens in which he demands Clark to drag him back up. This for sure left a great scary impression wondering if he will be okay or not.
When he is back up a force is trying to pull him down in which Clark tries to unlatch him which draws great tension as to whether or not he will be okay or not. They try to hold onto him which looked terrorising in which this force is too powerful.
Chet videotapes down the corridor with a trail of blood being revealed and so fourth which was a great horror touch to the story along with some suspenseful moments that involves a Christmas tree as well as deformed looking people. THis was as best as it got.

Of course Mary goes to his warehouse and discovers the other dimension in which she is attacked by him choking to death which looked pretty intense. THis made me wonder as to why he did this.

She is in a strange room in which Clark has her taped to a chair along with other deformed looking people just staying there lifeless with a bunch of eyes on their faces and other parts. This for sure looked genuinely twisted as he shows these obkects are edible. Nothing gruesome to spot on what he does. But it certainly looked strange to watch all of this.
Then the intensity rages on when Mary screams at him on things as well as him going crazy too when they both reveal the truth towards one another. THis looks perfectly twisted and screwed up for sure.
Clark seems to meet his maker when a giant puppet like object of him dressed as his pirate suit for his business approaches him along with what this figure does to him. All of this looked a bit shocking.
This object chases after her in which she returns to the other side of Clark's warehouse. The battle here looked action packed.

During the end of this story she is placed in an interrogation room from where the scientists have seen the lost footage from the beginning of the story as she is explained as to what has happened. Still I had a hard time following all of this. It was certainly a weird tale.

Bottom line is that this is a pointless flick and a waste of time in my books. It's a strange tale and quite boring for the most part. Too long to watch to top it all off. Also when it shows non found footage scene's like watching a regualr film it was a low budget looking flick. I was surprised this was a theatrical type material going to top cinema's and not playing at independent cinema's. To top it all off this was supposed to be filmed in my country of Vancouver, BC but the outdoor scene's reveal palm tree's. I wonder if this was a green screen showing the Hollywood outdoors. Although this was well publicised you'd be bored to death with this one.

The acting is strongly performed in which it all looked natural. Chiwetel Ejiofor (Clark) really brought it out intensely with what he talks about at first seeming calm with his speaking and then going into a rage. Does well trying to play out his part as a pirate for when he does his commerical. Reacts well to things and shows off terrific energy and enthusiasm. Knew on how to act crazy and demanding too. He was a true character actor.

Renate Reinsve (Mary) shows a great patient and calmness to a counsellor in which she drew her attention nicely when listening and then replying. Shows off a terrific versatality when she goes into a screaming vengeance and acting out of control. Studied this role inside out.

Finn Bennett (Bobby) as an employee knew his stuff as someone whom is high strung along with showing off some upsetting reactions when needed to be. Reacts well to freaking out after spotting something and screamed out for his life which came across naturally.

Lukita Maxwell (Kat) seemed to have a whiney and high strung attitude as well as another employee. Did well freaking out after spotting the wall where she was walking through. Does a terrific job screaming at the terrifying incidents too.

Kane Parsons and Edo Van Breemen did a fantastic job in composing this piece in which it nearly sounded very original. Alot of airy sounds as well as rumbling noises. Some parts had chiming sounds too. For the sci fi elements they had laser sounds and deep trombone boomings. Plus more deep horror music especially for the final moments of the terrors that unleash from what we see. Better than the story itself without a doubt. But the music doesn't save the flick from bombing.

Clark: The best part, you can eat them.

Mary: I'm not your wife!
Clark: Stay in character!
[Mary shakes the fake hair from her head]
Clark: Stay in character!
Mary: I've never even met her!
Clark: [Again] Stay in character!
Mary: Fuck you!
Clark: [pause] What did you say?
Mary: You want to know the real reason your wife left you? It wasn't the drinking! or the stumbling home at all hours or the rage! It was the whining! Nothing's ever your fault is it? You drink too much? Blame your job. You hate your job? Blame the world. You get kicked out of the house? Blame your wife. You attack me and tie me up? Blame your brain- you are your fucking brain, you dipshit!
Clark: You're saying it's my fault?
Mary: Yes. But it's just the way you're wired, isn't it? Isn't it?
