Brian:
Who were your first performing
influences - Michelle Pfeiffer flying from
windows in Batman Returns - Meryl Streep skipping
across rooftops humming Abba tunes - A maiden
aunt who used to dance in the kiddie talent
shows? Dana:
Definitely Lucille Ball shoving
chocolates in her mouth, Michael Jackson's
moonwalk, little orphan Annie singing, the flying
monkeys in 'Wizard of Oz' and
Bambi fleeing hunters in the forest. (Bambi was
my first movie theater experience, which left me
running out of the theater. Those images are
still burned into my brain!)
Brian: What
was the most exciting thing about being on the
set of 'The Blind and the Dead'?
Dana:
Being on set. I learn an invaluable amount of
information from being on each and every set I've
worked on.
Brian: Was
there something about the filming of 'The
Blind and the Dead' that was
particularly difficult for you? (IE: Getting used
to the camera, late hours, cold?)
Dana: Driving
home from Kenosha, WI to Chicago after being on
set 10 hours was a bit difficult. Oh, how could I
forget? Those darn mosquitoes! - When we were
filming in the forest preserve.
Brian:
What was the primary thing that you wanted to get
across as Reagan in 'The Blind and the
Dead'?
Dana: My
goal was to create Reagan as believable as an
observer amongst all of the craziness.
Brian:
What can you tell us about Jezebeth, your
upcoming film, and your role in that?
Dana: I
play an antique dealer in David Schmickel's next
feature, Jezebeth. I am really looking forward to
working directly with Blanca Dandy (who starred
as Isabelle, the blind girl, in TBATD).
Brian:
Is there a particular role that you dream about
playing?
Dana:
I tend to lean towards serious, dysfunctional
dramatic roles. - I drool over the thought of
playing a drug addict or mass murderer. Is that
too weird?
Brian:
No... I guess. Lastly, any words of wisdom (IE:
Don't rent a room in the home of a maiden
vampire) or future projects that you'd like to
tell us about?
Dana:
If it looks like a vampire, then it is a
vampire...RUN !!!!!
